The first LEGO Batman rumours for 2027 are light on details, but a recent game paints a clearer picture of the reportedly upcoming Batmobile builds.
A duo of LEGO Batmobiles are rumoured for early 2027, based on the Batmobiles from 1992's Batman Returns and, for the first time, the vehicle from the Arkham Knight game. LEGO DC's most recent sets have been entirely focused on Batmobiles, timed with the release of the LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight game last month.
That game just so happens to feature LEGO versions of the Batman Returns Batmobile and that of Arkham Knight, offering an idea of what to expect from the rumoured sets.
The Batman Returns Batmobile has been depicted as a physical set a handful of times, with the in-game model following those designs. The Arkham Knight build is much more experimental, even using gears for the wheels.
While these builds prove that these two Batmobiles can be made in LEGO form, don't necessarily expect the rumoured sets to look exactly the same, if they are real. Some in-game Batmobiles inspired by existing sets differ notably, including that of Batman: The Animated Series, with a larger windscreen in-game.
LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knights' Batman Returns and Arkham Knight Batmobiles may still be used as a foundation for the rumoured sets, but the 2027 models remain exactly that. Take these rumours with caution, for now. In the meantime, take a closer look at LEGO versions of these Batmobiles in the new game out now.
